About
My name is Shabana Sharif
"I write for those who are unseen on the page—and build spaces where they can be heard."
My work explores trauma, identity, and resilience through memoir, performance, and community art.
I'm the founder of the Thrive Art Exhibit, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of Indo-Caribbean artists and storytellers. Thrive NYC, showcased in May artwork and stories of 20 artists. Thrive Toronto followed in Fall 2025, continuing the mission of creative visibility and cultural healing. And in May 2026, I hosted and produced the third art exhibit with over 120 people in attendance at a gallery in the Lower East Side (NYC).
My writing has been featured in Brown Girl Magazine, Brown Gyal Diary, and The West Indian Newspaper. You can find links to the full articles below.
